Overview

GOLD’SCYCLE™ Instructors will lead and motivate members through a high energy, fully immersive cycling experience. Each instructor will be responsible for preparing prior to their class to provide optimal results while insuring member safety is not compromised. GOLD’SCYCLE™ Instructors will be a recognized resource for all members and provide education on various aspects of fitness.

 

 

GOLD’SCYCLE™ Instructors must work to achieve team goals to reach capacity in all GOLD’SCYCLE classes. They must adhere to the pre-set schedule which will be determined by the Head Instructor in coordination with the coach. Each instructor will be required to meet the participation goals which will result in overall revenue for the clubs short and long term goals

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver GOLD’SCYCLE™ Series in the essence of the program and adhere to the format, standards, and times scheduled.
  • Motivate the group and provide a fun workout experience while monitoring for signs of injury, illness or overexertion.
  • Interact with participants, answers questions, introduce/orient new participants, generate and maintain a positive exercise experience, and solicit feedback in order to maintain long-term participation and member retention.
  • Ensure all participants are using correct form during the training session and offer modifications and variations of the activities to accommodate all fitness levels.
  • Maintain and demonstrate a positive and professional attitude towards his/her responsibilities, fellow associates, members, and guests.
  • Represent and promote Gold’s Gym group exercise in a professional manner and adhere to appropriate fitness attire for demonstrating proper form, alignment and movement of the body, and refrains from attire that is revealing in an inappropriate manner.  
  • Consistently deliver scheduled classes as posted on schedule.  In the event of an absence, schedule a qualified/approved substitute to avoid any cancellations.
  • Ensure all equipment is functioning correctly to include microphones.  Coordinate with GGXM if any stereo or microphone issues exist.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workout space by ensuring equipment is set-up and put away for each training session. The sound system must be stored properly as well when not in use.
  • Promptly notify management of any equipment or facility repair needs.
  • Ensure all bikes are wiped down after and studio clean for next scheduled class.
  • Arrive 40 min early to set-up studio and prepare for GOLD’SCYCLE™.
  • Prepare any incident and/or witness reports as necessary in the event of an accident.
  • Accurately and consistently record sessions serviced and small group attendance.  Submit all information to the GGX Manager and or GOLD’SCYCLE Head Instructor in a timely manner.
  • Attend all required staff meetings as necessary.  Be able to attend training in order to maintain coaching skills or improve/expand current skill level.
  • Uphold the company's vision, mission, values and code of conduct and comply with all Gold’s Gym policies and procedures.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Hold a current CPR/AED certification and basic first aid training.
  • Have a minimum of six months teaching experience in a group exercise environment and or audition at this level of instruction with a demonstrated knowledge of group exercise principles and safe exercise techniques.
  • Maintain a nationally recognized Group fitness certification by ACE, AFAA, or ACSM.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic physiology, human anatomy, kinesiology, body mechanics, and training principles.
  • Demonstrate strong motivational leadership with adaptability at the front of a group to effectively engage participants and achieve a great member experience.
  • Have the ability to create and/or follow appropriate GOLD’SCYCLE program within the parameters as established.
  • Have positive and effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Have a high degree of professionalism with ability to motivate others.
  • Have the ability to operate and troubleshoot audio equipment.
